special needs or areas for growth. ^

ADD / ADHD
ADHD is a non-discriminatory disorder affecting people of every age, gender, IQ, and religious and
socioeconomic background. Persons generally demonstrate significant problems with daily life in
several major life areas (work, school, or friends), and have had the symptoms for a minimum of
six months. Symptoms of ADHD are excessive, pervasive, and persistent. ^

Addictions
Do you ever feel guilty following heavy drinking/drug use? Do you drink or use drugs to help you
unwind after work? Have you ever thought about cutting down on your alcohol/drug consumption?
People often believe their alcohol/drug usage is under control until something bad happens, such
as a DUI or hospitalization. ^

Adult Individual Therapy
Feeling like life is not going as you hoped? Talking with a trained professional can help put things
in perspective. ^

Anger Management
Is your temper raging out of control? Do small things set you off? Anger is a natural emotion,
but out of control anger is destructive. It takes a toll on the individual and those around them.
^

Anxiety / Fears / Phobias
Feelings of anxiety- feeling out of control, not being able to breathe, or being worried that you will
never feel safe or calm again- can be overwhelming. Fear is one of the most basic human
emotions. A fear can be healthy if it cautions a person to stay safe around something that could
be dangerous. But sometimes a fear is unnecessary and causes more caution than the situation
calls for. A phobia is an intense fear reaction to a particular thing or a situation. With a phobia, the
fear is out of proportion to the potential danger. But to the person with the phobia, the danger feels
real because the fear is so very strong. ^

Bipolar
Bipolar disorders are one of several medical conditions called depressive disorders. Depressive
disorders affect the way a person's brain functions. Symptoms show up differently in different
people.  ^

Chemical Dependancy
If you want to break your addiction, the journey to recovery includes information, education, and
self-awareness to put your life on track again. Working with your treatment program, APPS will
help you focus on setting individual treatment goals to avoid relapse. ^

Child and Adolescent Individual Therapy
Feeling like life is not going as you hoped? Talking with a trained professional can help put things
in perspective. ^

Chronic Pain
Chronic pain is pain that continues when it should not and adversely affects the individual's well-
being.  APPS can help you understand if there is a connection between your physical pain and
your emotional discomfort, and how to manage your pain so it no longer impedes your daily life. ^

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
This approach helps clients overcome their difficulties by changing their thinking, behavior, and
emotional responses to difficult situations.  ^

Crisis Intervention
If you’re experiencing a crisis and feeling ‘out of balance’ or feeling that you may hurt yourself or
others, APPS has a crisis line available 24/7 for you.  ^

Depression / Mood Disorders
Feelings of sadness and other symptoms that make it hard for us to get through the day, and last
for more than a couple of weeks in a row. Clinical depression is not just grief or feeling sad. It is
an illness that can challenge your ability to perform even routine daily activities.  ^

Eating Disorders
Eating disorders such as anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating include extreme emotions, attitudes,
and behaviors surrounding weight and food issues. Eating disorders are serious emotional and
physical problems that can have life-threatening consequences for females and males. ^

EAP (Employee Assistance Program) Services
EAP Counseling services address significant life problems; Work/Life balance programs address
the precious balance between work and life so that both are fulfilling and rewarding. ^

Female-Centered Therapy
Feeling like life is not going as you hoped? Gender roles, assumptions and practices present
unique perspectives and challenges in addressing stressors. Respecting those differences while
talking with a trained professional can help put things in perspective. ^

Gambling Addiction
Whether you bet on sports, scratch-off lottery cards, roulette, poker, or slots- in a casino or
online- problem gambling can strain relationships, interfere with work, and lead to financial
catastrophe. You may think you can’t stop, but with the right help, you can overcome a
gambling problem and regain control of your life. ^

Grief / Loss / Death
The experience of loss cannot help but bring one’s emotional life closer to the surface. Grief
counseling provides a needed framework to cope with the disorientation of loss, while at the same
time helps individuals begin to regain their balance and search for new ways of being and creating
personal meaning in the world.  ^

Health Issues
Battling disease, injury or recovery can have a significant impact on our feelings of independence,
self-image, and our ability to be an active part of life with our friends, family and loved ones.
APPS can help you manage your illness and regain your positive outlook.  ^

Internal Religious Conflicts
Concerned about some of your life choices as related to your stated religion? Choosing between
the religion of your family or a religion you feel more strongly drawn to? Talk with an APPS
professional as you answer your questions to find a place of spiritual peace. ^

Male-Centered Therapy
Feeling like life is not going as you hoped? Gender roles, assumptions and practices present
unique perspectives and challenges in addressing stressors. Respecting those differences while
talking with a trained professional can help put things in perspective. ^

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder
Obsessive-compulsive disorder is an anxiety disorder in which people have unwanted and
repeated thoughts, feelings, ideas, sensations (obsessions), or behaviors that make them feel
driven to do something (compulsions). Often the person carries out the behaviors to get rid of the
obsessive thoughts, but this only provides temporary relief. Not performing the obsessive rituals
can cause great anxiety. ^

Postpartum Depression
Postpartum depression may appear to be the baby blues at first - but the signs and symptoms
are more intense and longer lasting, eventually interfering with your ability to care for your baby
and handle other daily tasks. If untreated, postpartum depression may last for a year or more. ^

PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder)
Post-traumatic stress disorder is a type of anxiety disorder. It can occur after you've seen or
experienced a traumatic event that involved the threat of injury or death. ^

Sexual  Dysfunction
Sexual problems are defined as difficulty during any stage of the sexual act, which prevents the
individual or couple from enjoying sexual activity. The causes of sexual difficulties can be
physical, psychological, or both. ^

Stress Management
Managing stress is all about taking charge: of your thoughts, emotions, schedule, and the way
you deal with problems. It’s not always easy, but if you don’t control your stress, it will continue
to have control over you.  ^

Victims and Survivors of Abuse or Domestic Violence
Domestic abuse generally falls into one or more of the following categories: physical battering,
sexual assault, or emotional/ psychological abuse. You don’t have to live this way. ^

Divorce
Divorce is a difficult time for the spouses and can be especially difficult for children who are
involved.  Emotional support can help everyone through the pains of divorce, including self-image,
custody decisions and the changing family landscape. ^
